nxtile was founded by two seasoned supply chain experts who saw change moving too slowly in traditional systems. At the start of their journey, they adopted a circular dragon. It’s inspired by the ancient myth of death and rebirth, eating its own tail, symbolizing give and take.
Today, the dragon serves as an exclusive trust mark, guiding the journey to fast-track sustainable textiles for companies and making the positive impact visible for consumers on their products.
Our Impact Office in Amsterdam, led by Léon van Bakel, Jos van Straten, and their team of experts, oversees the entire supply chain. In India, nxtile works with a trusted network of factories and spinners, supported by a local team on the ground. This approach ensures full transparency and traceability across every step.
What began as a vision to redefine cotton waste has grown into a journey of innovation, sustainability, and conscious craftsmanship.
During a congress at Disney World California, Léon and Jos decide to build their own “fairy tale.”
The company name Winnetous is officially registered. Launch of the EasyEssentials webshop, introducing our first consumer-facing t-shirt collection.
Infrastructure is established in Portugal for small-batch production, and Swaptee.com is launched to offer sustainable event shirts.
As COVID-19 brings the event sector to a halt, supplying facemasks to the ETOS drugstore chain opens the door to B2B markets. We secure an exclusive process patent for producing 100% recycled cotton in Europe.
Production of premium 100% recycled towels for major retailer paves the way for new products and markets. Manufacturing begins in India.
The Impact Office opens in Amsterdam, and larger customers, including Dille & Kamille, join our mission. This year marks the birth of the nxtile name.
Together with Dille & Kamille, we embark on a new journey to integrate post-consumer waste into our production stream.
